Hi, I am new to this club, I know a fair bit about air cooled but little about diesel. I have just got a syncro with a AAZ engine in it out of an audi 80 1994, the engine has been in it since before 2002.
the guy who had it from then till now kept all invoices etc, i looked through them and it has had a new oil pump and 2 or 3 oil pressure switches . i have just put another one in it . Now to the problem, start engine and it takes 4-5 secs for the light to go out, then sometimes when you drive off it comes back on and stays on most of the time with the odd flicker off!. engine sounds fine even with the light on and i have driven it a couple of miles with the light on. I think it has had this problem for many years (old invoices)but i would like to fix it . The engine had 30000 on it when fitted and has now done 85000. And help would be much appreciated.
Thanks Graham.

Hiya, welcome to the club.
I'm not up on d*****s but if the pump's been done and the sender(s) and the engine's not taking any harm then it sounds like either a wiring fault or a dashpod/pcb fault. Has the previous vict ... erm I mean owner had the pressure checked ? It may be a good idea, if only for peace of mind ?
Ian.

it's probably a wiring issue/loose multiplug/worn edge connector but you want to have it checked with a proper guage so you know for sure
