Well on friday my tailpipe fell off... so looked on JK's website to get an idea on price, however their picture doesn't look anything like mine, their's shows a bolt on back box with bolt on tailpipe but i don't have that and i have a wide bit on the exhaust downpipe which in again a new one doesn't and instead of flanges bolting together i have something different.... i'm confuddled... have a look at the pictures and see what you think...
Also whats this blue thing?
It has a pipe going in which move the leaver but doesn't return, i feel it should have anothe tube going to it but from where??
Personally I wouldn't buy an exhaust of JK, get a decent one of Brickwerks.
The blue thing looks suspiciously like a diff lock actuator; not sure about the wire holding it in place though. Yes it should have 2 pipes "one to blow & one to suck", operated by vacuum pressure from a tank underneath the van. There's a good article on testing the vacuum etc in the downloads section of the Syncronauts page.

Its not the diff lock, this is ontop of the derv pump... still confused..
As for the exhaust i was just guaging a price <sudders at the thought of buying a JK exhaust>
If I remember correctly, when I got my exhaust, there are 2 pipes that are Syncro specific (I think it was 2) that I had to get from VAG, if that's any help
you have the late exhaust with a cat in it, baxter for decent exhaust parts
the vac unit is probably a central door lock actuator being used as a vacuum advance on the pump, bit of a bodge, sorry I don't do diesel so can't be more help
Just looked at the picture properly, that central locking part is being used as the LDA, not a good idea.
LDA's are a fortune from Bosch, and currently supply problems, I've been waiting for stock for about 6 months, I'm told they are due into the UK as of the 16th of this month after a recent call to Bosch, so new ones should be available again soon.
