Went down to the lock-up today & guess what I found hiding under my syncro................

Two little pools of water. Wasn't dressed to investigate but with any luck its the head gaskets! :rollin

Subaru central here I come!!!!!!!!..........* :ok

Now who on here has fitted a subaru in a syncro again? I know someone has. Info/hints & help needed. :D

i hope that it is not on the volvo engined doka as i was looking forward to a closer instection of that? :D and volvos engines are ment to go on and on and on and on and on.

No not the volvo....No matter what you do to it , it still just keeps going. Its the bloody VW thing!!
On the Volvo I've changed all the service parts, re-made exhaust support, fixed coolant drip. re-routed/re-positioned airbox. T'is running much better but still needing to get carb set-up correctly/professionally.......Still keeps going though!!

in tha case all is good then, so i guess that i will get that closer inspection then and possibly a little drive then? :D

Still love em though, (deep down!) Its not done too bad.....original engine for 23 years & 107,000 miles.
But loving the idea of a subaru more now!!!! 8) Just need to save/loan, find time & a good EJ25.....Simples! :roll:

Why not just change the seals? Being made of rubber they are technically a service item and as you have said done well for 23 years, better than my washing machine, that really is a wasserleaker. :roll:

Syncroandy has a neat 2.5 install (typically) I think Pete Morell had/has one

Joy of joys, I have a WBX head seal leak to attend to tomorrow, deep joy.
1984 (early system) 2WD camper.
Wonder what time the head studs snap?
i reckon about 3.30 pm there will be a dull pinging noise in Honley followed by a call for a new engine.
