Sliding door adjustment/wear?

Post by RustyNissanPrairie »

Checking over parent in laws 1990, 1900cc diesel and an issue with the sliding door.

When fully opened the latching catch lever scrapes down the door card material and it lightly buffs the external side panel of the van, however when the doors nearing being fully closed the clearance is greater-the latching lever dosnt catch and theres plenty of clearance between the door card and the external side panel.
Grabbing the door bottom and tugging reveal's a bit of play but nothing too excessive-allthough Im not sure exactly how much tolerance there should be.
The shutlines when the door is closed is okay-the door is in line and flush with the B (?) pillars
The sill area is generally quite ropey and will be replaced-does this affect how the door tracks, the door rollers seem okay-anything I should be looking at?
Also the aluminium latch plate/striker is being chewed up-is this worn roller? or adjustment issues?

The fowling of the door card could be that the card is buckled or that there are fixing clips missing. I woluld say that the striker issue is more likely to be adjustment.
