removing excess window sealant and paint spots from windscreen? obviously dont want to scratch off with anything abrasive -

try a stanley knife blade or a similar craft knife blade,normally does the trick.

A cloth and thinners. (Turps etc)

thanks for the hints people -

ghosts - 'try some petrol on a soft cloth' seems to have dissappeared(?) -

i'll try the cloth and thinners - sounds about right - and cant do too much harm with that one -

oohhh the stanley blade! there go the shaky fingies again!

thanks people -

what worked for me -
(and its hard to sound anything other than tame and domestic about this) -

thinner and soft rags and elbow grease for the little paint spots -

and the 'blunt' edge of a stanley knife for careful removal of slithers of windscreen sealant -

good clean up of the screens afterwards -

off course what i would really like to have posted - is - t
ook out my massive 46mm hex wrench - dropped the engine -
adjusted my leather shorts - new engine in - quick torqueing up - cup of tea - job done!

errrrrr......but maybe thats for another post........
