alfa engine into 1.9 waterboxer crewcab

Post by irsbuggy »

i have 2 alfa boxer engines(one 8 valve 1.7 &one 16 valve 1.7)also have adapter plate that fits beetle gearbox.
my questions

1a/will adapter bolt onto crewcab box(its a 1.9 wbx ,4 speed)??
1b/can i just extend thrust earing with a spacer?or will i need to change input shaft?
2/any thoughts on the pros /cons of these engines??(i know 16valve will need bespoke manfoldsto fit weber/dellorto carbs and also crank triggerd ignition system)
3/anybody know of type 25 running alfa engine??

will bolt directly to a petol t25 bell housing
will depend on how the release bearing was used in a beetle , a late beetle is the same setup as a t25
