Hi folks
Have recently bought an Ortec Wheel carrier of ebay in good condition but it came without nut, bolts and no fitting instructions. Can anybody help before I start drilling??!! I've borrowed a rivnut from work in case I needed one.

Re: Ortec wheel carrier fitting
You will need some proper strong bolts, nuts and washers to fix that wheel carrier on. Rivinuts are nowhere near strong enough. I imagine M10 or M12 on the body and M10 or M8 on the tailgate. Get proper ones from an engineers supply shop and dont be tempted to buy the ones in Aldi !!

Re: Ortec wheel carrier fitting
Did it come with the correct strenghthening plates?
Mine is about to be fitted to the new van. Let me know what you have and I might be able to help/advise on bolt sizes etc.

Re: Ortec wheel carrier fitting
Ortec lovers! pics as promised the outside brackets are fitted around the tailgate aperture as seen in pics the inside brackets are literally flat pieces of stainless with captive nuts which are fed in from the air vent from above and up from the rear light openings you need have small hands (a great job for the missus
) the clasp is on the tailgate held in place by another plate with 4 captives could use just locknuts though. sorry about order of pics hope they are of help

Re: Ortec wheel carrier fitting
Yeah, same as mine (but you have two
)
Like the double locking bracket. Was wondering about copying mine to get the opposite side, should be easy enough but the clamp piece might be problematic. I'm considering redesigning it in favour of some trailer latch/lock assembly.
