1.9 wasserboxer engine - what's it worth
I'm looking to do a Subaru conversion on my underpowered 88 camper. However I want to make the figures work, so looking to sell the VW engine once I've got the bits. How much can I expect to get for a 1.9 water-cooled engine? It was a replacement for the original fitted by the previous owner so has only 20k miles and 4/5 years old. Any ideas or would a VW specialist want it? Thansk in advance.

Anything from £100 to £500. Depends how good it is and how much someone wants one.

About right with costing. But to get nearer the top end of that range you would need to supply paper work/histroy to say the engine was only 4-5 years old and may be service history and old mot to show mileage in last 4-5 years. Would be easy to sell for good money if you can provide all this or if not adjust price accordingly. But leave in van so buyer can hear/see it working before removal. No quibbles then.
