hi all ,
thinking of going on our first outing to brecon ,looking for a site within walking distance would be good ,has anyone stayed or got any good advice on brecon ?

easiest would be bishops meadow as there is a bus terminus outside which takes you in to town

hi jason ,thanks for the reply ,ive just been on thier website and they arent open yet so i think ive found a decent site in builth wells that is open and is in walking distance of the town

pencelli is a belter, award winnig bogs etc and right by the brecon canal.
the star pubs just down the road and they do superb real ale and home cooked local grub

we have stayed at Brynich, nice site with a playground for the kids. Only issue we had was it's a bit close to the main road so there was a little bit of road noise.
We haven't stayed at Pencelli Castle, it looks lovely but as far as I can recall it has a no dogs rule - so no good for us.
Riverside International has a swimming pool I think, but haven't stayed there.

if you're contemplating Builth then you could try Llangattock nr Crickhowell. Park Farm is a open all year and next to the canal.
