2ltr cu barrel n piston ? advice please.

engines done nearly 200,000 kms 70,000 by me in the last 3years. on start up and when using engine braking down steep hills i get a blue,grey smoke trail out of exhaust, when i put new heads on last year i was going to put new rings on but all the places i tried had none in stock. my question is can i get oversize rings and get the cylinders bored to fit as ive done in the past with bikes or will just fitting standard rings and honning the cylinders do the trick (what wears quickest on these engines rings or cylinders?). when i done Aircooled vw engines in the past 1500 B&P were cheap so just put new on. Got a shock when looking for prices of 2ltr b&p.
