heater/cooling oddness

Post by _robin »

jx van, start her up and the heater blows cold until she warms up a little and then it begins to blow hot. But not long after and its blowing cold again. Then hot, then cold and on and on. Also, after it heats up temp gauge will sit just on the light and then it will creep up a way, down a way in a continual cycle similar to the blower. Any ideas?
Cheers

Hi Robin,

I have a petrol van, so not sure if it the same, when asked about knowing whether we had done enough bleeding was told if its blowing hot and cold its got air in the system - same with temp guage...when hot water flows past it registers...but if air bubble goes past it doesn't I spose, so temp falls. If the system is full of water, the heater will warm up, and remain warm. When I go hard up hill temp rises, downhill and temp falls.

Maybe make sure that it is bled properly?
