Carburettor and Idle Stabilising Unit

Post by clareb123 »

Boyfriend was doing some work on the camper at the weekend and he noticed that the idle stabilising unit was missing. Does he need to replace this? He has searched on the internet and some say you don't need it and some say you do. If he does need it, where would he get one from?
Also whilst he was tinkering, he noticed that the automatic choke on one of the carburettors is not working correctly. Can it be taken apart and fixed? If it can't, where could he get a replacement parts/whole thing from?

Excuse my heavily dictated message :) would be grateful of any advice,

Thanks in advance,

Clare

just leave it with the two wires plugged together.

as for the chokes they are adjustable.

slacken the three screws on the choke body and rotate till the flap is closed

Thank you for your reply. He got one of those units and seems to run better now. He's also changed all the ignition bits.
As for the choke, he hasn't had time to look at it yet. It's closing ok but one of them is not opening up fully.
Getting there!
