Confused Virgin..mongrel door?

on a late door I have looked at the doors and the door handle skin press and latch look the same as mine (rounded and not square skins) .. I did the chassis number link that i was given to date and age the van and it said early drop links and brakes but late door..bit of a mongrel..
can anyone explain what to look for in the differences between early ,one year and late door.
will post pix of my doors if i can

the catches/locking mech are different , as is the catch on the van , the hinges are different , lots of ball ache to make it fit , on the plus side a good early slider is worth more that a good late slider
