Cutting Out

Post by geof914 »

Just fitted a 1.9DG to my pick up and am still trying to bleed the cooling system however when the engine heats up it cuts out. I've discovered that it's the fuel cut off solenoid that's shutting. I've put a meter on the power line and when the engine heats up the power drops to 0 on the feed to the cut off and it shuts. Is there a safety mechanism to try to prevent the engine overheating or do I have a faulty relay or something. When it cuts off it clicks open and shut a few times before opening again. If I leave the engine for a few minutes and restart it'll run for a bit then the same thing happens.

Any ideas?

cheers,

Geoff

Could be,

First foray into watercooled T25's, aircooleds are so much less complicated! Ir's wired into a wire coming from the left hand side of the engine bay. It has two red wires and two black. Haven't worked out what the black are for yet!
