How on earth has that sat in a shed for 18 years?

Who buys a van and only puts 400km on it, then parks it in a shed and forgets about it?

When I was looking for a Merc 300SE some years ago, I found a 1991 version with 1100 miles on it in London. Beside it there was a 1989 300SL that was unregistered with 3 miles on it. A friend of mine has an unregistered Morris Minor which he has had for years. These low mileage vehicles are all over the place if you look and are prepared to wait. My 1991 300SE had only 22,000 miles on it when i bought it 3 years ago.

Makes the Tristar look positively used !!!

I can kind of understand a 300SE sitting pretty in storage.

But a Panel van?

Odd choice to keep tucked away!

I had one of these about 15 years ago, when my cousin came around to have a look he told me that there were 10 brand new along with loads of spare parts and 6 new engines in crates [the engines were auctioned off separately] in a nissan hut on an airfield were he was stationed. They belonged to the Royal Navy. The ten were the saloon type not this coupe type as the heads of the navy had to sit in the back with their full dress uniform on and the Rover P5 was at the time the only cheap car with a high roof that could let you do that,,,Maggi Thatcher also had the same cars for the same reason...they stopped making them in 1973

So has that Syncro lost significant value since it was bought ? (ignoring any interest on the capital)

The chassis on those Rovers has to be seen to be believed (or rather, lifted to be believed)
