Re: towing a frame
Have a search on here, as I think this question came up recently.
From memory most people agreed that 'legaly' an A frame wasnt really up to the job. Mostly due to the weight of the van, and not being a braked trailer.
Lot of people have used A frames without problems though.
If you do use an A frame make sure your towing vehical is up to the job.

Re: towing a frame
thanks for the replys.
i did use the search icon which only answered questions i knew, how much the van weighs and how i cant tow with a golf (mayb ive been using the wrong key words). the vehicle im towing with is a t4 2.5tdi which iv towed with b4. so i know its up to the job. i just wondered if the wish bones are like most or are they diffrent in such a way that wouldnt allow me to connect the a-frame.. thanks ben

Re: towing a frame
Towing anything with a GVW of over 750kg requires the axles to have working brakes. When you hook a towbar/A frame to front of van it legally becomes a trailer and must have working brakes. This has been discussed here many times. Your T4 can stop itself just fine, but not so well when being pushed by another 1500kg behind it with no working brakes.
