the door card on my autosleeper has carpet going from the top of the card to underneath the rubber window seal,what is the best way to remove the doorcard as it is still attached by the carpet,just use a stanley knife and cut along the bottom of the window seal then reglue it when it is refitted?,thanks

Sounds like the best option to avoid removing the window. You could wrap the excess carpet under the door card (if the rest of the carpet covering is fitted that way) - this will make future removal of the card straightforward. Remove traces of the original glue using an appropriate solution.
