I'm thinking about putting 15" steelies on the rear of my van and leaving the standard 14" rims on the front, does anyone make 15s as a direct replacement for the 25 how wide would be user friendly and would my baby moon hub caps fit to match the front ?
Thanx
I'm in my own lill world but its ok cos everyone here knows me !
Merc steels fit as thats what quite a few of us syncro guys run them, BUT.. 2wd will need to be carefull of ET (offset) as you dont have quite as much suspension clearance as us.. (on the front, rears should be ok..). C class mercs are available in ET 31 6.5j so could fit the front too..
No need to go to GoWesty in the USA.. several Euro suppliers do the Mefro wheels and you may fond some in the UK from the Syncro companies..
The mercs are considered a little soft and they will bend if given a clout off roading, but ought to be ok on 2wd.. the Mefro's have a 900kg load rating.. Niether will take the std chrome hubcaps though..
Golfs have the wrong PCD, some Passats have the correct PCD but will generally have too high ET.. (as do T4 wheels)
hi there the new shape golfs have 112 pcd the same as a t25 .ive got alloy wheels of an new shape golf on my t25 so the steeles will be the same the older golfs are 100 pcb ,
The MK4 golf / Seat Leon / MK1 Audi A3 are all 5x100 PCD. The MK5 Golf / MK2 Audi A3 (2004 onwards) / MK2 Seat Leon are all 5x112. I don't know if the hole in the centre of the wheel is the same size though as I have seen that to get some of the alloys to fit the T25 you need to have the bore increased to around 66mm which I think is bigger than the above cars.
