Hi all. Just finished a 1Z conversion to my Syncro along with Nigel Allen. Used all of the 1Z's ecu, electrics etc, but have a problem with rev counter compatibility. The Van originally ran a JX TD and already had a rev counter. The problem I am having is that there is a incompatibility with the signal from the 1Z alternator output to the JX rev counter. The revs are reading approximately half what they should i.e. when the van is ticking over the rev counter is showing only about 400 rpm. Bring the revs up and the counter still shows approx half. Weirdly, when I back off the throttle the revs rise for a second or two!
Does anyone have a solution to making the signal from the 1Z motor work with the JX rev counter? Is there any electronic inline gizmo that can change the signal so that it's compatible? Any help gratefully appreciated! Matt
