I've done a few searches but cannot find anything specific - so here goes.
The bodyshop who are repairing my 1980 Vanagon (with the westfalia conversion and pop top) have asked me about removing the pop top to make a cleaner job of the respray.
1 - Is this a sensible thing to do?
2 - Is it relatively straightforward?
3 - Can anyone point me to a site which has step by step instructions?
The rest of the van has been soda blasted so it would be a shame if the roof area let it down.
Cheers
Jonathan
P.S - How do I add pics to a message?

Re: removal of pop top.
Well I got the 2 sections of the pop top off without any problems at all. 45mins tops. Every screw and bolt came out easily and it just lifted straight off. Respray should now be a lot neater!
