My cover comes with the Just Kampers insurance. Only ever had to use it once but they were there within 30 minutes, can't complain at all.

I've been with AA since 1988, never had any complaints. Just don't expect to call them out more than 5 times a year though.

Got Mayday through the caravan club, think they are the same as green flag, £62 for there comprehensive policy does not include homestart, but I think (please check for yourself) if you were going on holiday they would tow you to your destination and afterwards tow you home or to a hometown garage. I think they guarantee call out time, 3/4 hour, again please check as my memory is Sh*t. Think they are a bit cheaper than AA or RAC like for like. Did I tell you my memory is sh*t?

breakdown cover

Post by brookie »

We struggled to renew our cover this year to include european cover as First Call no longer cover 'vehicles with living accomodation'. In the end by virtue of being members of camping and caravanning club (joined for ferry discounts) you can get cover from the RAC (well posh) and they insure the driver NOT the vehicle so that allowed me to bin my car recovery insurance. It still wasn't cheap (£170 for 12mths) but that is a comprehensive euro wide, no limit callout quote, and our camper's 19 years old! Hope this helps.
