Oil drain plug... schtuk!

Anyone else had trouble undoing the oil drain plug? I though I was just being weak and feeble till I broke my ratchet!
My experience of drain plugs (on other vehicles) is that they are pretty easy to undo!
I'm presuming that is is threaded, and I'll be needing a new sump, do you reckon this is the likely problem?
Cheers in advance

I think it's a fairly common problem. Mine is rounded off so obviously the previous owner had trouble getting it out. I've heard of pele having to weld a bar to the bolt to get it out.

happened to me to - think it plug is made of cheese.
First try tapping an imperial socket on sized to give interference fit, this sometimes works
I have also used a set of molegrips clamped as hard as could (I know its butchery) and tapped with steel hammer to shock the threads loose

Cheers guys, I'll have another go in the morning, with a mates (far superior) ratchet. I did have a go with an imperial one but the bolt has slightly rounded on one of the corners, so it doesn't fit. But the 13mm is a touch too big!
Has anyone got a photo of the bolt on the off chance I am being a complete tit! The Bentley manual diagram labels the drain plug, but not where it goes!
Thanks again!

Shoulder drive socket might help. end of the day if it knackers the threading in the sump then get it helicoiled,
