camber adjustment to no avail....bummer....

yo dudes.........i hope you've all got over ya duke hangovers.........anyway......a few weeks ago i had a go at doin the camber on the wifes "daizy fantazy"......it was visibly out just by lookin with the naked eye......must have been from fittin a top ball joint 3 years ago..so i thought an adjustment would have solved the "pullin to the left" syndrome............now im sure after i adjusted it the pullin to the left was much better,but then the wife said that it had gone back to normal?????....................ive had a drive and yes its back to normal...infact its probably worse now....ive had a drive and it feels like when i used to have mud pluggers on me landy's...like the tyres on the front have nobbles especially when cornering,and one ways easy to turn and t'others quite hard....could the front tyres be knackered and mis-shapen due to runnin for 3 years with bad camber..............any suggestions.......check the camber and try again if out.....could i try the fronts swapped round maybe??....................

i had the pulling to the left problem. I ended up adjusting camber, castor and tracking. If you alter one then this will throw the others out.

I didn't think that the top balljoint made any difference ... it's the bottom one and/or wishbone bushes ?

Is the tracking OK ?

Tyres are one of the biggest culprits of pulling, swap the fronts to the rears and see how it goes.

ah owducks.....ive been to several different garages and had the tracking checked and theyve said its ok......all done with the old trackin bars...........as for the ball joint....i remember changin one 3 years ago but cant remember truly which one i did...deffinately n/s...............done 4 mot's since i re-built her bus,and every year i ask the tester to check the front end for even the slightest amount of play in anything...but hes never found anything..........right then....i will be having another look on monday.....i'll check the camber again and adjust if neccessary,take it to have the trackin checked......should i try swappin the fronts round.....and im goin check the wiki now to see if caster can be done...or is it a pro job.........if so...is there anyone round staffordshire who does it for a sensible price..........cheerz to all for the replies

DO NOT TAKE IT TO MERITYRE!!!!! The first time they got it a bit wrong. When I took it back they had 6 monkeys trying to do it and made it tens times worse!!!

when you did the top ball joint did you remove the top arm?


have you used the sam mot tester always?

when jacked checking for play make sure the jack goes under the lower arm as far out as possible

if you jack under the chassis the road spring will force the suspension down making making it almost impossible to feel any play!

some testers do get it wrong!

I would have the geometry set up correctly, not just the tracking the whole thing. ie.. toe in, castor, camber. I lowered my T3 and went and had the geometry set up professionally. It now handles great. Like ninja turtle says 'If you alter one then this will throw the others out.'

Mmm have to agree with this . I was in attendance when the machine read out for the camber setting shown it in the green.Few months down the line and tyre wear one one side was noticed.Ended up doing it myself with a spirit level checked it today and the replacement tyre is worn even.If you are in within reasonable travel distance i would take it to SI as suggested .Down south its to far or i would be knocking at his door
