Brickwerks open day - poss off roading excursion

Post by Simon Baxter »

We're having the open day again, January 17th 2010.
Same deal as last year, bring a mug and we'll keep it topped up with tea or coffee.
We'll supply breakfast (bacon or sausage butties)
Free swap meet and I'll have the "Parps Dept" open for reduced rate parts.
Possibly a few other traders there too with a table.
I need to go see a local pub, not too far away, 3-4 miles, they have a big car park and word is you can stay there for free so long as you spend some money at the bar, going to go and have a meal and make sure it's not sh!te.
They usually wind up for lunch time, the open day not the pub, so there is the chance of some local lanes in the afternoon.

Things have changed here recently, we lost rake head/holme woods due to reservoir repair work and I have a feeling that when they open again that they will have been graded anyway.
Ramsden road is open again, but the interesting "Stone Step" has been filled in because some clown came off his mountain bike and had to get helicoptered off the hill, he since moaned to the council and because it is a "Public Road in Character" they have a responsibilty to maintain it, so it's just a big pile of concrete now.
Dursley bank still open, but the delph (quarry) has been sectioned off, again, some clown came off their crosser and got hurt and it was private land anyway, so thats gone too which is a shame.
Stalley Royd/Cheesgate Nab Side still open as far as I know.
Scaley gate still okay.

They need a reccy, I've not been out on the push bike nor a syncro for ages as I don't live near there anymore but if I get chance to cycle them, or a syncro to borrow I will get them done before hand so no dissapointments.

Anyway, up to you, only thought it polite to mention it.
