Worn snorkel flange (ooh err)

Post by sjmtlewy »

My DG Boxer engine has a piece of rubber/cardboard stuff (its black, not sure what its made of) that roughly seals what I assume is an air hose to the box behind the rear right light cluster, where the vent connects through to the engine bay.

I'd like to get behind this to get to some rust, but I'm pretty sure it will break if I try and remove it. What do people do to get round this? can it be replaced? I've never seen or heard of anyone having something similar to be honest...

comes out quite easily you'll probably break the little lock washers that fix over the pins but a couple of self tappers will do the job when you put it back if needed
