Original fog/spot light rivet holes in bumper

Post by nesty »

Hi

Sorry if this lazy question. I could take off the bumper and view, though prefer not to more work in the cold then I have to :P . If someone could inform me please to save me a bit of time be appreciative. :D

The below brackets from Brickworks. I gather the original rivet holes are towards the sides and there are 4 sets. Can someone tell me are the rivet holes for the brackets top and bottom of the bumper/crossmember? For example to enable set to be mounted above and below the bumper?

Thanks

Does the riveted bit get riveted Vertical to the cross-member?

Here's a pic of the original VW brackets in postion (bumper removed)
Image

These are fixed on the inner position, the holes for the outer bracket position can be seen pretty well on the l/h side, to the left of where the cable comes out.

How did you get them in? What size are these rivets?

I got a rivet gun today that said accepts 4.8mm rivets and they didn't fit. So that is going back!

I suppose you need the riveters that look like bolt cutters!
