Rocker Covers

Post by wackos00 »

Hi all,

My rocker covers will not stop leaking oil and it a pain in the a***, last time i fitted new gaskets i used up nearly a hole tube of gasket seal!! Anyway, i wondering if the problem is not my sealing technic but the rocker covers. Had a look on jk and they have some nice looking but expensive empi ones ,

anyone have any experiance with these, they say they bolt on but not sure how that would work, also is it worth paying 50 quid more than the standard ones?? my bus is a 1982 a/c 1970cc

cheers in advance

My advice is don't use gasket sealant, it's probably causing more of a problem.

Clean all the gunk off, get another pair of new gaskets and put grease on both sides rather than gasket seal, you should find it a lot better

hi
check they are not bent, when they stick levering off with a screwdriver can bend them enough to stop gaskets sealing, especially on the corners.
i have bent at least 2 in the past and remember these things are getting old so any pitting on the inside rust bubble etc will affect the seal
euro car parts do them not genuine but do the job and only a few quid each.
had bolt up ones and they leaked even more!!!!!

hope this helps
honestly darling it wont cost much to fix.
