1.6 Diesel 4x4 advice

Post by OptimoCampa »

Hi everyone, I am just new to the site and on the look out for my first van. :D

I have been offered a 1.6 diesel 4x4 air cooled van. Does anyone have much experience of these? I'm looking for advice on fuel consumption, power and any general problems that people have had with them. I am particularly worried by the 4x4 as I have read here and there than there can be problems and the fuel consumption isn't great.

thanks,

If however the 4x4 bit should be correct, then have a gander through this section of the forum https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or more specifically this page http://www.syncronauts.org.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and most your questions shall be answered.

yes, sorry everyone, seems like it's not a diesel. It is however a still a 1600 Aircooled.

Would anyone be able to comment? Underpowered? Is the Aircooled better or worse than watercooled?

I don't think so

A syncro 1600 Aircooled?
Nah!

yes A 1600 is wanting in power, but water cooled is only better than air cooled in the colder weather, and that's only the nice heater in the cab
