Blinking van trouble!!

Post by Damien »

Finally got my gearbox sorted at the start of the week, everything with that has been fine. Distinct lack of power now though. Have checked timing, cleaned carbs (again), thought i'd cracked it when i noticed the little nib in the middle of dizzy cap was missing, replaced the cap, checked all plug gaps and colour and nothing untowards there. Still not got as much go as it used to. Done compression test 133-135psi on all still, checked checked again and rechecked all the breathers, etc that were disturbed. Gone round the carbs and inlet with WD40 and all is fine.

Any ideas?

*thinking i have carb trouble as if i disconnect both LH cylinder HT leads it makes no difference to engine speed.

swap the plugs left ot right , swap the leads 1,2 to 2,1 if still no difference,

when ticking over or slightly reved stick your hand completely over the carb see if it fires.or when missing drip some fuel down the carb on that side see if it makes a difference. may be just float stuck or not set correctly.
