what a pain, the splined holes are different sizes - anyone else come across this problem and do you know a fix? Yes, I'm going to contact VW, but can't get up to the shop till Tuesday

I'll ring the VW van centre tomorrow (been told they are open) and if they haven't got an alternative then I'll go to JK

Cate, I was getting a friend to do it as I've got so much uni work to do plus my mate has just opened a small garage, but my van won't fit in his unit

plus the polo's brakes failed today, luckily heather noticed the light going off and that the brakes weren't working as well as normal, so thats another job to, at least my mate will get some work out of all this

Heather was on the M6 and got her brother to ring me and I told her to pull of the motorway ASAP, luckily they weren't far from me or a junction so I popped on my cape and grabbed a pair of pants of the old lady next door's washing line and put them over my combats and drove up to investigate, but it was an RAC job alas, but I diagnosed the problem in seconds

I've always wanted to be Captain Chaos

Cate, I'm getting man boobs with all this sitting around in front of the PC and eating lots of snacky foods - can't weight (get it? ) to shed it all in the summer.

Finally got this part sorted. The VW parts bloke, who is very patient and helpful, spent 20 minutes checking every year of T25's on EKTA and asked a few of the mechanics but he was stumped. Oddly, thanks to someone off BY, Just Kampers only seem to sell the type of lever I'm after and not the one VW sell :?

Anyway got the part and spent 30 mins yesterday replacing it - a big big improvement - no fighting to find 1st and 2nd. When I have more time I'll sort out the rest of the linkage :D

Success
