Do i want larger mirrors ?

Post by caveman »

Not as stupid a question as you think. I may have a deal on the larger T3 mirrors[,not the LT ones]. I was wondering whether they are much larger or taller , in other words are they worth the extra money, or is it just that they hang on the doors better?

Look better
Don't creep in other words..stay where they are put
Will always keep their value
And..yes they are definately bigger (especially useful for left hookers)
You know you want them :ok

Strickly second user and typically priced from £140 - £200.
They do come up from time to time on here, you see them all the time on German ebay..

Okay i got them, from someone i Poland, and boy are they fantastic !. VW should have installed these right from the get-go. So much better vision- except for the big blind spots just behind them. But then again those pedestrians shouldn't be there anyways!

To be fair I've had our van 6 years and have never thought that the standard panel van mirrors were anything except great .... except perhaps when the passenger side one got a touch of the Larry Grayson's. As a former pro-driver I'm always conscious of what's where and what's coming next.

The big mirrors were always an option on T3's.

The big advantage of them is that they fold back flat for off roading, which is enormously useful.

You can buy the mirror (only) from VW, about 17 quid, and there is a heated version. Or you can fit a tractor type mirror on the arm, as it is a standard size.

I think the truck mirrors are back in production.
