Hi guys
I was wondering if anyone had experience of fitting a rear facing 3rd seat in the back directly behind the passenger seat. I was hoping someone could tell me the best type of seat to use and how to fasten it to the floor. I am currently searching for my 1st van but most have 3/4 rock n roll bed that make up only two seats, i need a third.
Thanks in advance

Re: Fixing a 3rd seat in the back??????
I have a flip up folding buddy seat behind the passenger seat with a lap-belt. I 'doubled up' the lap-belt mountings with the passenger seatbelt. The one disadvantage of that is that due to the mountings being a bit far back whoever sits in it can't be a lard@rse. I've never actually used it though......... I think I'm right in saying rear facing seats don't require seatbelts anyway?? If you do fit a seat, do make sure it is VERY securely fixed to the van anyway.

Where do you get the buddy seats from? I was hoping to use the 3 mountings from the passenger seat to double up for a 3 point seat belt. Do you know if anyone has done it before.

I got mine off fleabay but I was after a specific type so it took 4 years for me to find one
. There are various buddyseat designs out there, so you need to do a bit of research to find what best suits you. Plonk a post in the 'Wanted' section on here if you like...............
I don't know if anyone has attached a 3 point seatbelt for a buddy seat, sorry.

Made my own iwith a lift-up seat base for extra storage, insulated inside so I can carry frozen goods back from supermarkets. Its just a box with a back that is slightly raked - not too hard to make.

Em,
I missed this other thread - but I would be interested in photos of your set-up and details of that web-site as need to get a buddy-seat set up in my van 'cos using it this winter for school run and need another reliable space for a child-seat. Would lap-belt be ok in rear-facing seat do you think using a booster-pad - was thinking that I would try & fit a 3-point belt, but haven't really though this through yet - although need to get on with it!
Many thanks,
David
