Earth cable on Oil breather?

Post by waltraud »

Any ideas why there's an earth (i think) cable attached to one of the oil breather tower bolts? Not sure where it should go to anfter replacing carb. Is it meant to be earthed for some reason and if so i guess any decent earth is ok? Thanks.

My guess is it was once the earth lead attached to the dizzy as some vehicles came with a spade on the dizzy casing .

I never could understand why the dizzy has an earth connection on it.

I mean it has an all metal body that is firmly clamped to the main engine case !!
