T25 heating

Post by jamiemumt »

Ok I am new to owning a camper, so I need advice on heating it when camped up - what do you suggest?
Ps, I have grandkids that will be with us, so need sensible suggestions please ( no matches to the tank).
Cheers,
Jim.

If you're on hook up, get a small fan heater from a caravan shop for about £15, might as well use the electric you're paying for
If you've not got electric, you need to read up on Eberspachers and the like, but they're quite pricey I believe.

For camping without hook up, using the leisure battery as a power source.
these heaters are designed to run overnight or all day

Propex, ebberspacher, webasto.

All these blow hot air into the van... SAFELY.

the propex uses gas, the other two use liquid fuels (Diesel, petrol)

they are very efficient and employ thermostats.

For camping with hook up
Oil filled radiators... (quietest)
2 kw Fan heaters. (best for instant heat)

anything that vents it's exhaust into the van is silly.
gas heaters especialy,

It may just be my hardy Scottish blood, but our 2kw fan heater is just too hot! even on the 1kw setting, i want to turn it off 5 mins after i've closed the door...

we are currently looking for a fan heater with thermostat so we can leave on a lowish heat overnight.

We did just recently tried the fan heater, and it was great, but I was thinking of when not hooked up, and I am not sure of burning liquid fuel in the van - is it safe / does it not give out a lot of water?
Is there an electric heater you can run off the liesure battery, what about through a inverter?
By the way, great response everyone, thanks.

The only realsistic alternative to EHU is gas heating, Forget invertors and battery powered as there is nothing feasable......

Apart from LPG fuelled heating there are Diesel (and Petrol I think) versions that draw fuel from the fuel tank but thats about it!
