reversing lights

can any body help went to oktoberfest last wkd no probs but when got home reversing lights not working bulbs ok all other lights ok fuses ok , they was working before but not now . what else can i check my van is t25 87 1900cc petrol

check cable connecter is fastened on the side of the gear box.
Mine hangs down disconnected permanently, possibly by previous owner, for a specfic reason that only they know - hence I no touchey :shock:

Could be the reversing light switch, which is on the side of the gearbox...I think. Any how it has a wire going to it. The connector may have come off or the switch may be duff. I'm sure a techy will pop on soon saying exactly where the switch is...Mark

switch.... nearside on the gearbox pull off the wires and unscrew it

you can tell if its the switch by disconecting the wires from the switch joining them together and the turning ignition on till the oil / batt lights come on if you reverse lights are now on then the switch is at fault :wink:

Thanks HC - I'll have to try this procedure on me own van to try and rectify why mine are disconnected :ok

Glad to be of assistance to me fellow 25er :wink: some times the switch sticks the other way so they're permanently on this could well be why yours are disconected, just reconect em to the switch and see what happens also worth looking at the bulbs as some peoples remove them to rectify the staying on problem :roll:

Just to piont out dont worry about fixing them theres not need for um on an MoT! So ya cant get done for not havin um!

taz here thanks for everyones help the wires had just come loose working great now , did not know that not needed for mot , thanks again for advise
