Which gearbox.?

Post by tinman »

Ok , We've done the" which Subaru" and after considering all the replies I've bought a 1998 2.5 quad cam.And I've been in contact with Richard to sort out the conversion parts.
Now" which gearbox? " Currently I've an ABD 0705 7 code box but its noisey so don't think there's any point putting a load of power onto that I've got the chance of on ABN 1609 9 code box which I believe is a 5speed.
I also still need to source a flywheel and starter motor as the donor car is an auto.
Thanks in advance!!

If I were you I would speak with Aidan and have him rebuild your box to your requirements... that way you'll know it will hold up...

That 5 speed has only a marginally higher top gear.. and doesnt offer any real advantages.. the 4 speed is in fact a stronger box..
