i found it between injector pumps 1-2, its stamped into the metal and hard to read if there is rust but its just a serial number
a mechanic will need to know if its a 1.6td jx engine or ky or the other one they fitted to the t25 so they can order the correct bits

The serial numbers are alpha-numeric - the letters are the prefix and engine type. That's how it works for petrol ones anyway..............

Now i'm really confused, got the van back from its mot today, and the mechanic recons its not a 1.6 diesel, it bigger. so i look for the engine code as described here, and find 1.9 d stamped where i was meant to look. Does this mean i have 1y.

have a look for a sticker on the top of the cambelt cover...this has the number on it .if its not there then you wil have to have a good look where was said earlier but i found on mine the numbers were half gone..but the ones i could read tallied up with the sticker on the cover.

good luck :ok
