Wiring Saab seats

Post by pokey »

Hi all,
would anyone out there have info or experience of wiring in a pair of 9-3 saab seats from a 2001 car. I was hoping it would be a couple of wires and away you go, nah!! There are 10 or 12 wires and am afraid to dab 12v on them for fear of blowing something up..particularly the airbag.

(If this sounds familiar, it's cos i placed this SOS in modified yesterday)

Thanks Clive :)

This may be of help provided the multi plug colours are similar (Air Bag fitted)

Hi Fritz
Thanks for finding that. The plugs in the drawing are the same as mine, but the wire colours are different. But the wire sizes are similar and are arranged the same way in the plug. So i had a tinker about with it yesterday, cut the air bag wires and wired in the lives and earths, but seat motors still not running. May be something to do with the 2.7v control voltage?? Might be an idea to wire straight into the switches, bypass all the electronic stuff.
Going to see a sparky friend of mine at the w/e, will have a chat to him about it.
Thanks again
Clive
