Looks fab, was it a 4wk holiday? Did you drive all the way from Dieppe / Calais / Cherbourg? Or did you get ferry to spain? Am considering that for next year. Any struggling on the hills in northern spain?

Great pics - i pretty much did the same trip this year - 24 nights. Boulougne, le mans, Loire valley, Vendee, Dune de Pyla, Gaste, Mimizan, St. Jeans de Monts across to Spain - Mundaka then the long ferry home from Santander. 1400 miles in total. loved it!

thanks for reminding me - i didn't take many pictures - dont know why!

Hi

went from Boulogne Alkers bloody long drive... ferry was 90 quid off Ferrysavers.com seems to be the cheapest crossing.... avoid tolls 70 euro's it cost .... nice motorways nobody on them (no-one can afford it) .... you could probaly squeeze all this into 2 weeks .... we took our time and didnt rush .... found it better to travel in the cool evenings (maximum sunning time on beach...!) easier on the engine too and less traffic....was worried about hills mountains .... roads were no worse than the forest of dean where i live (which has roads like a rollercoaster) . most roads pick there way around mountains unless u wanna set off and explore up them then they are steep.....!!!!....stayed up a campsite in spain 1st gear climb ...but very short...

got breakdown cover from direct line ins for amonth 90 quid also...!!! aa wanted 220 quid ....!!!

arrived in boulogne late so stayed in a car park with a load of other vans (an unofficial aire..?) spent next day driving... stayed at motorway aire... somewhere...????? then spent 5 nights wild camping by lake in Lacanau...popped into lacanau for the sooruz surf pro festival....some great reggae bands in the evening....! then Cap Ferret for 2 nights at an aire...didnt pay ...no-one came to collect money... Que sera.....2 nights at campsite dune de pyla 25 euros a night...!!!!!.... (met up with a mate paragliding there) then a night in the dune de pyla tourist car park which is also an aire ... 15 euro.... and 3 euro for a can of overpriced orangina.!!!!!!!...then Hossegor for 2 nights....parked over looking the sea in normal parking space lots of vans doing the same..... stumbled on free latino festival on the sea front lovely....then biarritz for the night at an aire 10 euro's paid once...! (we were ahem "out" when the cops come round to collect the money) went too spain for 2 days.... back to biarritz... 5 night .... then mimizan 2 nights at the aire....10 euro's.....then random village somewhere south of paris.... then a campsite in paris for two nights in the Bois de boulogne....!! ..... then reluctantly returned home...

France is pricey ... the pound is so weak ... .would do it all again but would take loads more supplies.....thank god for LIdl's and Calor gas....
