greenway aligators

had a new set of 205-75-15 aligators put on the pick up for a challenge event last weekend,blimey they make other mud tyres look like all terrains,they seem to find grip from nowhere and clean really well,bit of rubbage on wheelarches as a result of tall blocks of rubber,only a off road tyre but highly recomended,and at £32 each good price,cj.

I have to say I was SO tempted by those, but as you say, not road legal - which was the clincher for me going with the Atacamas...

So what are the options for a person who has a set of 16" pentas on his van? I was thinking when my tyres need replacing to get a set of sort of knobbly tyres that can be used on the road too.

Atacamas and machos apppear to be the most popular, atacamas are better but can be a bit noisy on the road, and both these tyres produce a little bit of extra roll on cornering because of the block depth. Dont forget with these knobblt type tyres the rolling resistance is greater, therefore you fuel will be greater. That, I have proven.

Greenway Machos - cheap, tolerable on the road when cut-in. Go the looks..

BFG All-Terrains or equivalent - probably what you really should have as a practical all-round tyre... look good but not as knobbly
