gear box and linkage

Post by jexps »

Dear club80-90 brothers and sisters

My t25 1987 water cooled 1.9 ltr campervan is giving me a head ache. I recently replaced my gear box and as far as i can tell i did a good job, as when it was on axle stands all the gears engaged, with engine on, but now i have taken off axle stands i am unable to engage any gears.I was wondering if i had made an error with the linkage. any advise would be appreciated.I have looked at the haynes manual but it really doesn't help.

sounds like you need to extend the linkage a wee bit , thinking about it as the rear is up in the air the linkage would be shorter , only by a cm or so

mark it all up and then loosen the linkage coupling , pull it out a cm ,and then try it
