Anyone had this problem before?
I bought some new tyres about 3 weeks ago. They are Hankook ATm Dynapro RF10 all terrains and from what I have read seem to get a good write up. Anyway after they were initially fitted and balanced I was getting vibrations (not propshaft vides) so took it back in to have the wheels re-balanced. Was told that they were indeed out or at least 3 of them were. One was 10g out another 15g out and the third 5g out. Anyway took it for another cruise and found that the vibes were there again. I took it back on Saturday and they did the balance on the fronts again whilst I was there. This time they were 65g and 50g out. So that is 3 wheel balances later and guess what I still have the vibrations. I didn't get any with the MTs that were on it so I don't think it is the suspension that is the problem. I am thinking I should take the van to a different tyre place to get them to balance them just in case the machine it was balanced on is faulty. Anybody else got any ideas?
Cheers
Rob.

Re: Anyone had this problem before?
what rims are they ? If they are alloys and they are using sticky weights then they get ripped off by the bottom of the lower ball joint, hence I have rim weights on mine, don't look as nice but no bad vibes when rotating wheels

Well just been looking at my wheels again and it isn't the ball joint ripping them off as there is oodles of space.
Cheers

Re: Anyone had this problem before?
I would suggest the balancing machine is faulty.. (or faulty operator...). if they are different amounts out each time they balance them and are deffo not losing weights, the only way that can happen is if the tyre is losing rubber or spinning on the rim (put a mark on the tyre and rim to see if its moving, but I doubt it..)... the suspension cannot make a tyre go out of balance...

New tyres are a c*nt.
Leave them a couple of hundred miles until they are actually round, then get them done.

I was told same thing last week by Tyre Fitting Chappie when he was putting on my MT2s
he recommended re-balance after 3 or 4 weeks of driving

Re: Anyone had this problem before?
Never ever had to do this myself, even with the Blackstar Guyane remoulds I have on the syncro... and had quite a few new sets of tyres on all sorts of vehicles over the years..
Only a problem with "bigger" sizes of tyres???

Re: Anyone had this problem before?
You can set them up 100% bang on.
You then get "the phone call"
put them on the balancer - f'kin miles off.
In the end we balanced them up best we could, if they moaned we told them to run them for a bit before they brought them back.
No rhyme or reason to it, some you get right first time, some you have to re-do.
Nothing really to worry about.
Some cars are more susseptable to it, al lot could do with the wheel alignment amplifying the problem, plus some peiople are blissfully unaware that they are out of balance, some people put up with it, and some notice.
Just leave them for a bit before they are done again, juist remember it is a big mass to try to balance, we used to have better success with the small spirit level type balancer than we did with a singing and dancing electronic item.

Will leave them a bit then. After a 1000 or so miles or a bit longer?
Cheers

Re: Anyone had this problem before?
I had similar with one of my 225/70/15 Contis on Ronal alloys. Third time he turned the tyre 90 degrees on the wheel and re-balanced. Problem gone. No rhyme nor reason, but the shakes went away.
