Torque setting for wire oil strainer nut...

Post by Helga »

Hi, my 82 2litre air cooled needs another oil change, but was wondering on the torque settings for both the main sump nut and, more importantly as it seems delicate, for the nut that holds on the wire strainer cover... now this is leaking at the moment, but I seem to have a lot of pressure on this nut but am worried about over tightening and stripping the nut... so can you tell me, anybody, what is the correct torque setting for this? (PS can't find it in wiki of haynes manual!)

Thanks!

Oh, and on this model, the strainer cover only has ONE nut holiding it on, right in the middle.
