Using vehicle LPG for camping

My van has an LPG tank (70 litre) fitted for running the engine. I wondered if it was possible to fit a 'take-off' valve somewhere to run a cooker & Propex heater so I wouldn't have to buy bottles or fit another tank.

Is it possible, legal sensible & affordable?

As Rob said, not possible. Your tank is liquid output. Domestic (hob, fridge, etc) tanks are vapor output.

ok... what about plan B? Fit another tank and have a take off valve to fill that tank, with the out-valve at the top of the 2nd tank (where it will be vapour)?

Am I missing something? LPG...liquid petroleum gas, starts out as a liquid but turns to gas as normall atmospheric pressure.
Surely a tank on a Westy for instance is just the same as a tank for gassing an engine, just holds liqified gas?
Obviously he would need a regulator and appropriate valves etc.
I'm probably wrong but please explain.

Same lpg Martin, but different release from tank.. Domestic lpg is discharged from top of tank... is gaseous state through regulator to appliance. Engine lpg is discharged from bottom of tank... in liquid state to vaporizer (to gaseous state) to engine.

So can't use engine tank to power appliances
