Anybody got any tips (or know the magical german incantation) for fitting the spring clips which hold the tempreture senders into the thremstat housing?
At the weekend I tried, carefully pushing them into place, pressing them in with a hose-clip, forcing them in with a pair of mole grips, bashing them in with a hammer. All I managed to do was break the housing, which needed replacing anyway as it's cracked at the bottom.
Any tips would be helpfull, I've got to fit a new housing later this week

Thanks for the reply hagzo, but those aren't the clips I'm on about. The ones which are causing me trouble are the U shaped clips which "slip" in behind the temperture senders to hold them into the thermostat housing.
I think the idea is that the ends of the U open out as then are forced around the sender then spring back to keep it in place, but on mine the ends just kept digging to the plastic of the housing.
I know what you're on about though, mole grips are your friend with these little buggers
