1985 Syncro Westfalia Joker
I rocked up to a pitch recently having been caught in traffic and fancied a cuppa. Filled up my kettle from the newly cleaned and topped tank and the flipping tap would not switch off leaving me like the little Dutch boy with his finger in the dike trying to stop my van from getting flooded.
As soon as I tried to close the tap the pressure kept on forcing the knob off. With the tap partly open the knob stays on (not so much pressure). With the knob off you can see there some contacts which must form part of a switch. Rotating the knob should I guess close and open the circuit to switch on/off the pump. My problem is that no matter what I do, the pump does not stop running.
After rummaging around rather frantically I found a fuse that controls the pump (see picture, it's the white one on the right hand side of this pair by the drivers side door pillar (LHD)). However I haven't figured out whether this is the only thing it does, nor what it's buddy is for.

Has this happened to anyone before?
Anyone got any suggestions?
Regards
Steffan
