LPG tank in the Locker?

Post by Yozza »

Ay up,
I've got my day van converted to run on LPG and I've got a project Doka in the garage, I'm considering LPG conversion on it and the locker looks about the right size for a 70l tank (possibly bigger). Has anyone stuck a tank in the locker or is it not practical from an 'access' point of view? It seems a logical place to put one.

Anyone out there done it?

I have done it :-)
75 L already inside the treasure door!

I think it is the biggest size for LPG tank could fit in the locker area.

So's mine. Think it may be 80ltr.
Its the perfect vehicle for an LPG conversion.

Are you really in Thailand? Where abouts?

Mine had a 120L tank in there.. only just goes through the door... had to take it off though as couldnt register in France with a non french installed system...

It made the locker unusable for anything else though so now in the UK, I will install a large tank under the rear bench as that space is harder to use on a day to day thing with the kids etc sitting in the back...

TMT,
Who installed your 120l tank in the locker? What was the negatives (appart from losing that space)? Will 120l fit under the bench? :?

Cheers

It was on the vehicle when I bought it, installed in Holland.. only been on 1 year, but French authorities wouldnt recognise it even though I had the dutch gov inspection papers... had to take it off... Now back in the UK, I shall be installing LPG again (myself, as i have done several and going to get my installers cert)..

The 120L tank filled the locker... (IIRC it was 360mm diameter, only just went throught he locker door...) and I think its too tall to go under a std rear seat... but I am changing my rear seat in anycase and lifting it so the kids can see out a bit better.. it might go then.. + storage for some bits a bobs..
