Flashing coolant light from start up

Afternoon all,
just checking, as i've read wiki and posts, but started van up to day and the coolant light kept flashing. Checked header tanks and all full, does have a small air bubble but Filler pipe was full(darlek) Drove van for about 10 miles and needle climbed and light went out, stopped for 1 hr and did the same but went out quicker, probably 2 miles. Engine not overheating. Is this likely to be electrical?
I'm keen to know if this is a major problem as in the depths of Cornwall with a big drive to the midlands in two days. The van does have leak from window screen corner, close to electrics?

Van is 1.9dg 1983, would appreciate thoughts

clean up all the earths on the van ( theres an earth crown in the cab above the fuse box) , also clean up the contacts in the engine bay , do these one at a time to stop any mix ups
It maybe that , but could be the sender in the bottle that on its way out

Just to let you know ours does that, and the man I brought it from said it did it the whole time he had it.
sometimes it flases, sometimes it doesnt, but have checked it all out and cant see anything untoward.
have had a few suggestions on wht it could be but none of them major and we've driven her from sussex to Bournemouth for the last 4 weekends with no problems.

what's the temp guage say, on the led, just above ok, more than 2/3 it's seriously hot. Often the flashing is due to poor earth and or relay connection due to water ingress from lower edge of windscreen and condensation evaporation cycle, removing the relays and putting back in , maybe with some contact cleaner and do the two earth crowns too for good measure.
I'd do the relays first to see if good as crowns a bit more work to access

Thanks all for replies, will check out contacts as I noticed they were a little furry. As it's from cold the engines not up to temperature but when it is it never goes over 2/3, ran like a dream on way here. Sounds like the journey will not be affected so may deal with it when home. Thanks all for help

Put a splash more water in the header tank. Mine does it when the water level is getting low.

Just thought I would update, well sort of - checked all wires and connection and replaced some in the engine bay as they were green and corroded, also cleaned the level sensor. It seemed to stop the flashing - well for a day anyway. Set off on journey back, flashing went out after a while and all was well for about 250miles. Until hit traffic about 50 miles from home, then flashing and needle full to the right. Blew a hose and lost most of coolant, leak where the rubber had been stretched to fit over new plastic back to front pipes. Anyway, 3hr wait for RAC and another 2hours to repair and bleed and limped home, this time with no flashing light!!!!

I'm not sure if they were connected? But onto the next job of replacing hose.........

somebody on here told me about 3 months ago to "make sure it's BLED properly " , and I did and now seem to have no c--ling problems (don't wanna tempt fate too much !) , and seems to me you had the same bleeding problem, any air compressing in these wbx sysems can be fatal .
