Autobox Again

Post by flatstone »

Unfortunately my auto box has given up the ghost and the gearbox place want £1.5k to replace it with a re-con. I don’t have £1.5k and if I did I wouldn’t spend it on a van that is worth half that amount. So I need to find a second hand box. I’ve looked for T25 boxes and they are like hens teeth, but I have read on here that you can also use Porsche(924) or Audi boxes. Sorry for the naivety but can I just go out and buy a 924 auto box and swap mine out for it (I wouldn’t be doing it!), or do I need some sort of conversion plate, do I need a certain model of box.

I just don’t want to rush out buy a box that just will never fit or cost me a grand to get fitted.

Cheers for any help.

Chris

MY van just died (head gasket), its an auto and the box is good, doesn't jump or anything. Offer me something sensible and you can have it for the right price. :ok
