Screen wash not washing!

Post by Mr Soft »

Hi,

I have an '89 Westy & both front & rear washer bottles are full & the wipers work in all positions, however I am struggling to get the water from the bottle to the windows, any ideas/common problems?

I have looked in the Bentley manual & believe it may be the column switch as both washer motors are activated through this switch, but could really do without removing the wheel if it may be something else!

A water pistol may be a cheaper & easier option!!!!

If ya get a wet foot well on ur passenger sometimes or even jus drips down the side pop ya glovebox open n check the round earthing turret shaped things on the side there. I had one last week totally jus corroded away. Cleaned n replaced clip n fine again! :ok

Do the front wipers activate if you pull the wiper switch towards you?
Do the rear wipers activate if you push the wiper switch away from you?

My washer water pipe is broken where it enters the tailgate :( I'll get if fixed one day (I'm waiting for a heatwave to make the pipe more supple.

Hi all,

Fuses ok, rear wiper activates when stork is pushed, front wiper does not work when stork is pulled, however occasionally will get a small amount of water before it stops. Are the earth turets behind the glovebox on lhd vehicles or near the steering column?
Any more ideas?

Thanks.
